FS Global uses a variety of sources. For instance, much of the world in FS Global is using the older 3-arcsecond (~90 m) SRTM data, but local meshes, e.g. The Alps, use high-res local meshes (~10-19 m) to really make some terrain (some famous mountains) standout.

FreeMeshX will not have these localized regions because much of that data is proprietary and very expensive, although there exists some free data that can be used for future installments. For the base 1.0 release, we are going to release just SRTM-derived data that is triple the resolution of the SRTM data used in FS Global.

So it is a bit of an upgrade overall. Mesh is compatible with other meshes. FSX will render the highest-resolution available, so if you use FreeMeshX with FS Global, the highest resolution local regions of FS Global will still be rendered on top of FreeMeshX. Good question. This is an issue inherent to any addon mesh, and one I've given much thought. Microsoft purposefully changed the elevation of airports from their true values to fit their default mesh,, and so some airports experience these plateaus when using an alternate, more accurate mesh.

One would need to provide BGL files for each airport to correct their elevations (as FTX Vector does), or use an airport mesh flattening program (similar to what PILOT'S offers). We haven't looked at fixing the issue in our release, because that's a heck of a lot of extra work when there are already solutions out there, albeit proprietary. So unfortunately, we can't offer a free solution until we've figured one out. America is likely to improve the least because it already uses a LOD10 mesh for the United States. That's not saying anything wouldn't change because the newest SRTM data would be the most accurate to date. Europe will benefit from the upgrade.

Mountains will be corrected from past anomalies and have more detail. Hills will be a bit sharper. Biggest improvements would be found in other regions which use some very low-resolution data e.g.

Endless quest books pdf. Between 1982 and 1987, TSR released 36 Endless Quest gamebooks. Most of these books were set in the Dungeons and Dragons game world, though several were based on other TSR products. The books were the most basic type of gamebook; the reader made decisions but didn't have to keep track of any rules.

Asia, Africa, and South America. Microsoft gave them some crap mesh.

Hey everyone. As you know, Freeware is a major part of any gaming community and has been a staple in the FSX community for a long time. The two major areas where there is little to no freeware that has been available has been global vector data (the way that shorelines, roads, and borders are drawn) and global mesh (the topography of the earth and how mountains, valleys, and elevation of terrain are portrayed).

Well I am happy to share that the latter has now been made availlable in an amazing freeware package. Check it out. This is a major upgrade for those of you not already using pricey SRTM addons such as FSPilots Global 2010, Ultimate, or others that are out there. Originally posted by:What order should these be in when I add them to the scenery library? Right now, they are at the very top of the list, priority 1-7. Is that the correct place?

The default scenery is way at the opposite end of the list. Priority 139. The original advice seems to suggest you can place them anywhere: 'FreeMeshX should work with other meshes.
