I needed a quick replacement for the my Monfrotto 526 and 058b stix. I use proamusa dolly, Well, it is very difficult to attach the stix to the dolly, It does not go higher then about 50 some inches.

Even though it is 3 stage legs. Only can be used to it's best off the dolly. This does not have a pedestal function that I told the sales rep. So much for listening. It comes with a bag for the stix but not the dolly, What Gives? You cannot protect the dolly but U Can protect the stix? Also a very short handle. From Perfect for the Budget This Tripod is perfect for the price. It goes very high, all the way up to 72' (182cm) and it offers twin legs which are very common in very sturdy and quality tripods, I love the spikes on the legs that you can have by removing the rubber, which can help in situations where the ground is not so stable. And spreader is also very great for even more durability and sturdiness. The Video Head is also a very great thing.

I highly recommend Benro Tripods! This Review is not sponsored by Benro or anything like that. Rated 4 out of 5 by Sean from Excellent starter tripod, but long-term durability a concern This fits very nicely in the gap between the sub-$150 consumer junk and more expensive professional gear that tends to start around $500. The legs are decently stiff and the head is nice and smooth.

What you don't get at this low price point is: counterbalance or drag adjustments on the head (the pan and tilt motions have brakes, but don't really allow you to fine-tune the drag). Also, one major thing you pay for with the more expensive gear is for the durability to go from gig to gig and abuse your equipment without worrying about breaking it.

I am concerned about how some of the plastic parts and joints will stand the test of time, but hey, at this price point, I can always buy another one. I think in the long run, this is a great tripod to get you started, but if start doing more professional work, its in your interest to upgrade to something a bit tougher.
